The National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) and the Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, invites applications for faculty positions at all levels in the fields of nanoscience, nanotechnology, and materials science & engineering. UNAM was established at Bilkent University to promote excellence for scientific research and technology development globally and in Turkey. UNAM hosts numerous prestiguous international research programs including ERC (European Research Council), NIH (US National Insitute of Health), and bilateral and industrial projects. Our distinguished faculty and state-of-the-art research infrastructure at UNAM provide an excellent environment for inter- and trans-disciplinary studies, with over 400 researchers across a wide range of research fields. UNAM infrastructure was established and is being supported by the Ministry of Development of the Republic of Turkey to satisfy the needs of researchers and to give them a head start when setting up their own research groups. UNAM functions as a national user facility with currently over 800 users from industry and academia. In addition, to support its intense R&D activities, UNAM is also dedicated to train high caliber graduate students through its Materials Science and Nanotechnology (MSN) Graduate Program (MS and PhD degrees) at Bilkent University.
Applicants should have strong scholarly achievements and should have strong track records in their research fields. Promising young scientists are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidates are expected to develop and establish an internationally recognized research group and program at Bilkent UNAM, to have the ability and the skills to supervise and guide PhD students and/or researchers, teach graduate-level courses and to have commitment to bring competitive research funding and contribute to services at UNAM.
