The National Nanotechnology Research Center of Turkey (UNAM) and the Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, seek candidates for multiple Research Scientist positions, starting in September 2020 onward. The primary responsibilities of the successful candidates will be to establish and develop an internationally recognized research program with a strong focus on research and development in collaboration with the industry in addition to acquiring research funding to support their research and to co-supervise graduate students. These positions benefit from no teaching load, thanks to a generous grant by the Ministry of Development of the Republic of Turkey.
We seek to hire excellent young researchers in all areas of material science, nanoscience and nanotechnology. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in material science or a related field, including physics, chemistry, biology or engineering. Candidates that bridge disciplines, have synergistic interests with existing research thrusts, or bring unique research perspectives are encouraged to highlight these in their application materials. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis. There are three evaluation stages. The initial screening determines the suitability of candidate to the institutes needs. The second stage involves on-site interviews. The third state is the decision of the UNAM Board of Management based on the evaluations of the institute and -if needed- the external reviewers.
