Asst. Prof. Dr. Engin Durgun has recently been announced as a recipient of the 2015 Mustafa Parlar Research Award, granted in recognition of his contributions to the fields of physics and materials science. Honoring the METU scholar Mustafa Parlar, the awards have been distributed yearly since 1981.
Dr. Durgun’s research principally concerns two-dimensional materials, placing strong emphasis on both computational modelling and practical applications to truly realize the potential of planar structures in the modern world. Solar fuels, hydrogen storage and crystallization and complexation kinetics are among his group’s specific research interests.
