Dr. Kemal Celebi has recently joined the UNAM faculty. He received his BS degree from Bilkent University and MS degree from MIT, both in physics. He then moved to Switzerland and received his PhD degree in 2014, from ETH Zurich, where he studied on graphene synthesis, fabrication of graphene membranes and nanofluidics. His work resulted in the demonstration of the world’s thinnest membrane, displaying ballistic mass transport at ambient and thus achieving several orders of magnitude faster gas permeation compared to the best membranes available. At UNAM, Dr. Celebi is establishing a research group to focus on the problems in membrane science and nanofluidics. More details on his research can be found in his Google Scholar profile:
