The National Nanotechnology Research Center of Turkey (UNAM) and the Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, seek candidates for multiple faculty positions, starting in September 2018 onward. The primary responsibilities of the successful candidates will be to establish and develop an internationally recognized research program with a strong focus on high-impact results, in addition to acquiring research funding to support their research and to supervise graduate students. These positions benefit from a reduced teaching load that involves only graduate courses, thanks to a generous grant by the Ministry of Development of the Republic of Turkey.<\/strong><\/p>

We seek to hire excellent young researchers in all areas of material science, nanoscience and nanotechnology. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in material science or a related field, including physics, chemistry, biology or engineering. Candidates that bridge disciplines, have synergistic interests with existing research thrusts, or bring unique research perspectives are encouraged to highlight these in their application materials. The openings are targeted at the level of Assistant Professor, but experienced candidates with outstanding credentials may be considered for Associate or Full Professor positions. UNAM was established at Bilkent University to promote excellence for scientific research and technology development. UNAM faculty have been generously recognized by numerous prestigious awards, grants and honors, including ERC (European Research Council), NIH (US National Insitute of Health), EMBO (European Molecular Biology Organization), memberships in national academies, and numerous top national and international science awards. UNAM boasts state-of-the-art research infrastructure, which was established and is continually supported by the Ministry of Development. In addition to being a national research powerhouse, UNAM has the additional role of a national user facility with over 1000 users from industry and academia. UNAM is also dedicated to training high-caliber graduate students through its Materials Science and Nanotechnology (MSN) Graduate Program (MS and PhD degrees) at Bilkent.<\/p>
