The event was organized by BSH at the Bosch T\u00fcrkiye Headquarters in Istanbul in order to foster collaborations that can shape the future of home technologies.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, UNAM shared its R&amp;D, manufacturing, and product development capabilities in sensor platform technologies, functional surfaces, advanced materials, and health technologies with industry representatives. In particular, the discussions that focused on sensor technologies attracted considerable interest regarding UNAM\u2019s expertise, technological know-how, and product infrastructure. In the area of functional surfaces, UNAMs innovative material and surface technologies were evaluated. Thanks to its advanced research infrastructure and interdisciplinary R&amp;D capabilities, UNAM offers solutions for challenges such as heat-related issues in ovens, scratching and fingerprint formation on metal surfaces, and rust and corrosion in washing machines. In addition, the \u201cLab-on-a-Toilet\u201d platform developed by UNAM in collaboration with Eczac\u0131ba\u015f\u0131 and Ar\u00e7elik was among the technologies that drew particular attention during the event.<\/p>\n<p>Within UNAM\u2019s interdisciplinary research ecosystem, numerous advanced research and development activities targeting a wide range of industries are conducted simultaneously. In the field of functional surfaces, UNAM develops thin-film coating technologies resistant to scratching, abrasion, moisture, chemicals, and high temperatures. These coatings, which can be applied to surfaces such as metals, glass, and engineering plastics, offer functions including easy-to-clean properties, anti-fingerprint performance, photocatalytic activity, and self-cleaning capabilities. At the same time, customizable solutions are being developed to enhance the aesthetic properties, durability, and service life of surfaces.<\/p>\n<p>In the field of sensor technologies, UNAM develops highly sensitive sensor platforms for biomedical diagnostics, environmental monitoring, food safety, and smart healthcare applications. These technologies enable low-cost and rapid analysis solutions for applications such as glucose measurement, DNA analysis, and the detection of toxins and heavy metals. In addition, research is ongoing on devices designed to improve local imaging resolution in MRI systems, sensor systems for monitoring orthopedic strain and predicting bone fracture healing, and next-generation platforms capable of urine and stool analysis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) recently participated in TechPartners Day on May 5, 2026.
