YAE members are selected based on the highest standards of scientific\u00a0achievements and international recognition by their peers. The members seek to provide a \u2018younger\u2019 perspective about the\u00a0future of science policy and academia in Europe. The YAE also promotes networking between its members to create a pool of\u00a0information, pass on experience, give feedback, and provide active support to colleagues across Europe and future generations\u00a0of leading scientists.<br \/><br \/>Dr. Ilday is a multi- and inter-disciplinary researcher focusing on self-assembly, complexity, far from equilibrium systems, and\u00a0nonlinear and stochastic dynamics. She is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Materials Science and Nanotechnology &amp;\u00a0National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, which she joined in December 2017.\u00a0Before that, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Physics Department at Bilkent University. She received her Ph.D. from\u00a0Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2014.
