Prof. Dr. Urartu \u00d6zg\u00fcr \u015eafak \u015eeker (MSN and UNAM). For the iGEM competition at MIT,<strong>\u00a0Bilkent-UNAMBG<\/strong>\u00a0Team has been supervised by Dr. \u015eeker together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. I\u015f\u0131k Yulu\u011f (Department of MBG and UNAM).<\/p>\n<p>UNAM\u2019s Project aims to design synthetic genetic circuits coupled with enabled genetic logic gates in bacteria that can process signals\u00a0 from volatile organic compounds in the exhaled breath of the patients to diagnose breast cancer conditions. The overarching goal of the project is to produce a new kit that can be routinely, easily and non-invasively diagnose different cancer types.<\/p>\n<p>The iGEM competition is a worldwide synthetic biology competition organized by The Internationally Genetically Engineered Machine Foundation since 2004.
