He received his BS degree from Bilkent University and MS degree from MIT, both in physics. He then moved to Switzerland and received his PhD degree in 2014, from ETH Zurich, where he studied on graphene synthesis, fabrication of graphene membranes and nanofluidics. His work resulted in the demonstration of the world\u2019s thinnest membrane, displaying ballistic mass transport at ambient and thus achieving several orders of magnitude faster gas permeation compared to the best membranes available. At UNAM, Dr. Celebi is establishing a research group to focus on the problems in membrane science and nanofluidics.
