Prof. Fatih \u0130nci has published an article entitled \u201cSmart Materials: Rational Design in Biosystems via Artificial \u0130ntelligence\u201d on the cover of <em>Trends in Biotechnology<\/em>, one of the leading scientific journals in the field.<\/p>\n<p>This study provides a wide perspective on recent advances in AI-assisted smart materials (SM) for a myriad of healthcare products, including those related to diagnostic devices, bone regeneration, wound healing, and drug delivery. Accordingly, recent, sophisticated data-gathering technologies have led to a paradigm shift toward smarter manufacturing processes involving the use of SM in the scientific and technical evolution of biotechnology. The properties of SM -including their responsiveness to stress, temperature, light, and magnetic or electric stimuli- make them highly attractive for numerous biomedical applications.
