Prof. \u0130brahim Sarpkaya from Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) recently published an article in the prestigious journal <em>npj 2D Materials and Applications<\/em>, published by Nature Publishing Group.<\/p>\n<p>The research entitled &#8220;Prolonged Dephasing Time of Ensemble of Moir\u00e9-Trapped Interlayer Excitons in WSe<sub>2<\/sub>-MoSe<sub>2<\/sub> Heterobilayers&#8221; investigates the effects of moir\u00e9 patterns formed in the heterostructures of two-dimensional materials on the coherence properties of interlayer excitons. Asst. Prof. Sarpkaya and his research group found that interlayer excitons can have prolonged dephasing times up to fivefold compared to delocalized excitons when they are trapped in these moir\u00e9 potentials.
