Atasever, a graduate of Bilkent University\u2019s Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, recently met with Asst. Prof. Fatih \u0130nci and his team at the Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM). Dr. \u0130nci and Nedim Hac\u0131osmano\u011flu and Murat Alp G\u00fcngen from his team, whose research endeavors are concentrated in the innovative technology realms of micro\/nano-scale technologies and biomedical engineering at UNAM, discussed the details of the project they plan to carry out in suborbital flight with Mr. Atasever. In this study, extracellular vesicles in biospecimens samples collected from the astronaut will be isolated using custom-made microfluidic chips; any alterations on these vesicles will be examined; and should it be determined that they possess adaptability to varying conditions, these vesicles will be transferred to healthy cells; and their responses will be investigated.
