UNAM, as the “national lab” of Turkey where high technology R&D and innovative P&D projects are carried out in the fields of nanoscience, biotechnology and materials sciences to produce quality scientific knowledge, to train qualified R&D workforce with university-industry collaborations, to promote the commercialization of advanced technologies and to create benefit, is the program manager of the A1 – 1004 – Center of Excellence Support Program, which consists of 18 partners, where domestic and national high technologies will be developed and multi-faceted contributions will be made to our country with the support of TÜBİTAK.
With 13 projects, program coordinator organizations that are among the most important academic and industrial organizations of Turkey for the development of new information, products, processes, methods and
systems within the scope of national targets and policies; TUSAŞ, Vestel, Şişecam, Bilkent University, Abdullah Gül University, Eskişehir Technical University, TOBB ETÜ came together for the A1 – 1004 – Center of Excellence Support Program, sharing their knowledge and competencies with each other and are working to create benefit for Turkey.
Our research program, which will last for 4 years and will enable the development of competitive and product-based critical high technologies for Turkey, continues at full speed. We have choosen “plane tree” as a symbol for our program, in which we aim to make versatile contributions to our country: We desire that our works and mission, like a great plane tree that is a bridge between the past, present and future, would give hope, confidence and strength to the future of our country. The plane tree, which can live for centuries, is a continuation of existence, the representation of endurance and what we will leave to the future on the way to eternity. It is the strong, deep-reaching roots that make the plane tree so ethel. We are very joyous to have formed these roots together with you and our stakeholders.
