İpek Tuğçe Döş from Middle East Technical University was awarded the first prize in this year’s NanoArt competition with her work entitled “Desert Flower.” Rana Asgari Sabet from Bilkent University and Zeynep Cemre Örsel from Middle East Technical University were runners up with their images entitled “Nano Birds” and “Nano Dahlia,” respectively.
22 nano-scale images were submitted to the 2022 UNAM NanoArt competition, of which 19 were qualified for the finals. After careful evaluation by UNAM MSN instructors, this year’s winners were determined.
Also as part of UNAM NanoDay, the NanoPoster competition awarded UNAM research groups who presented posters promoting their research work. Hilal Korkut won first prize for a poster she prepared on behalf of the Quantum Photonic Laboratory led by Dr. İbrahim Sarpkaya. Farzan Shabani’s poster that he prepared to represent the Demir Research Group led by Prof. Dr. Hilmi Volkan Demir was awarded second prize; and Kaveh Ebadi took third place as a representative of the Nanophotonic Devices Laboratory led by Dr. Abdullah Demir.
Bilkent University UNAM’s annual NanoDay was held on Thursday, May 12 this year with more than 160 participants.
