Bilkent University PhD graduate Assoc. Prof. Sedat Nizamoğlu, former advisee of Prof. Dr. Hilmi Volkan Demir, was awarded Consolidator Support from the European Research Council (ERC) for his project entitled “Retina Network Optoelectronics.”
Assoc. Prof. Nizamoğlu will be receiving a total of 2 million Euros in funding for his project in order to develop new retinal implants. The flexible, biocompatible, and reliable implants that are still under development aim to offer high visual acuity and a wide field of vision to combat visual impairment.
Assoc. Prof. Sedat Nizamoğlu is continuing his studies in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Koç University and is also a member of TÜBA-GEBİP.
