Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center’s (UNAM) Dr. Gürkan Yeşilöz has been awarded support from the Health Institutes of Turkey (TÜSEB) as part of the institute’s aim to foster the research, development, and commercialization of cancer treatment products using domestic resources. Dr. Yeşilöz’s goal is to engineer and introduce an innovative cancer treatment approach using nano drug carriers. This ongoing research and development endeavor represents a promising alternative in cancer therapy, as it seeks to enhance the efficacy of drugs by directly targeting cancer cells while mitigating adverse side effects.
