UNAM’s Asst. Prof. İbrahim Sarpkaya’s Research Published on the Cover of Nano Letters Journal

Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center’s (UNAM) Asst. Prof. İbrahim Sarpkaya’s research has been featured on the cover of Nano Letters, a highly impactful journal in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Asst. Prof. Sarpkaya and his team’s research entitled “Quantum Beats between Spin-Singlet and Spin-Triplet Interlayer Exciton Transitions in WSe2–MoSe2 Heterobilayers” focuses on the in-depth examination of long-lived interlayer excitons in semiconductor transition metal dichalcogenide heterobilayers. The study discovered the presence of coherent coupling between spin-singlet and spin-triplet states of interlayer excitons. This discovery holds the potential to significantly contribute to the development of valleytronic and quantum photonic devices in the fields of nanotechnology and semiconductor photonics.
