Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center’s (UNAM) Asst. Prof. Fatih İnci was honored with the 2024 IBG Science Medal for his innovative disease diagnostic technologies and micro/nanoscale biomedical solutions.
This prestigious award is granted annually at the İBG Science Day and is presented by the İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (İBG) to honor distinguished scientists who make significant contributions to science and society.
Asst. Prof. İnci develops ultra-sensitive sensors, microfluidic platforms, and microneedles aimed at diagnosing challenging diseases, such as infections and cancer, to address key issues in modern medicine. Additionally, by creating low-cost, easy-to-use diagnostic systems that provide fast and accurate results, he is making significant strides in combating health inequalities, leaving a global impact on health technologies and touching the lives of millions.
In addition to scientific excellence, the social impact of research and a commitment to inspiring young researchers are key criteria in selecting the award recipient. Asst.
