Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) Asst. Prof. Amir Bahrami has received extended grant support through the EMBO Installation Grant (IG). Professor Bahrami was first selected as one of six researchers to receive the prestigious grant in 2021 for what was planned to be a three-year period. It has now been extended for an additional two years due to Asst. Prof. Bahrami’s outstanding scientific results, successful performance, and the progress made throughout the project.
Asst. Prof. Bahrami’s research focuses on the theoretical modeling and computational analysis of soft/active materials, as well as cellular and biological systems. His work contributes to a deeper understanding of complex systems and has applications in various scientific fields.
The EMBO Installation Grant Program is designed to support young, talented researchers in establishing independent laboratories and advancing innovative projects. This funding typically covers research areas such as molecular biology, genetics, biophysics and biochemistry, cell biology, and biomedical sciences.
