Bilkent University Materials Science and Nanotechnology (MSN) PhD graduate Dr. Nedim Hacıosmanoğlu has been awarded third place in the Engineering and Natural Sciences category of the 2026 TÜBA-TEKNOFEST Doctoral Science Awards. He received the award for his doctoral dissertation, “The Use of 3D Printing in Biotechnology for Separation, Sensing, and Biomanufacturing Applications.”
Dr. Hacıosmanoğlu completed his doctoral studies under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Fatih İnci at Bilkent University’s National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM), where he conducted biotechnology-focused research within UNAM’s advanced research infrastructure and multidisciplinary research environment. His doctoral work presents innovative approaches to the use of three-dimensional printing technologies in biotechnology, with a particular focus on separation, sensor development, and biomanufacturing processes.
Organized by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) as part of TEKNOFEST, the TÜBA-TEKNOFEST Doctoral Science Awards aim to support original and high-quality doctoral research that contributes to Türkiye’s science and technology goals. In 2026, a total of 15 researchers received awards across the fields of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Health and Life Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Basic Sciences.
Dr. Hacıosmanoğlu is now continuing his academic research as a faculty member at Ankara Medipol University’s Faculty of Medicine.
