Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) and Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TUSAŞ) launched a strategic R&D project on adaptive surfaces with a focus on national defense technologies in 2025.
The signing ceremony for the 14 new R&D projects that were initiated in 2025 under the leadership of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and came about through collaboration among public institutions, universities, and defense industry companies—including the project between Bilkent UNAM and TUSAŞ—was held on January 13, 2026. Prof. Dr. Kürşat Aydoğan, Rector of Bilkent University and Chair of the UNAM Board of Directors, attended the ceremony on behalf of UNAM.
