Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center’s (UNAM) Asst. Prof. Gurkan Yesiloz has published a new study entitled “A Microfluidics-Assisted Aprotinin-Based Nano-carrier for Valproic Acid Delivery” in the Journal of Controlled Release.
In his research, Asst. Prof. Yesiloz developed an innovative aprotinin-based nano-carrier system to enhance the effectiveness of valproic acid, a drug used in cancer treatment. The nanoconjugates, produced via a microfluidic method, were shown to suppress cancer cell growth in tumor models, enable controlled drug release, and improve bioavailability. These findings demonstrate the strong potential of this approach for developing more targeted and effective cancer therapies.
