Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) held a series of academic and institutional meetings in Bosnia and Herzegovina on April 20–21, 2026.
As part of the visit, Assoc. Prof. Engin Durgun and Asst. Prof. Mustafa Ordu from UNAM visited the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at University of Sarajevo, the largest university in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the visit, the two UNAM professors delivered presentations on UNAM’s advanced research infrastructure and interdisciplinary research ecosystem, as well as Bilkent University’s Materials Science and Nanotechnology (MSN) Master’s and Ph.D. Programs. The visit also included bilateral meetings with academics and university representatives.
Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Durgun and Asst. Prof. Ordu met with Prof. Dr. Birol Çetin, Education Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarajevo, during their visit. Over the course of their trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina featured discussions on strengthening academic relations between Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
