At a ceremony held on December 18 at Mithat Çoruh Auditorium, Bilkent faculty members and graduates received their awards from the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Turkey Section. Since last year’s ceremony was cancelled due to the pandemic, the awards for both 2020 and 2021 were presented at this year’s event. The IEEE Turkey Section Scientific Awards Program was initiated in 2017 and this year was its fifth edition.
One of the four Doctoral Thesis Awards, which are presented to the best doctoral theses completed in Turkish universities in IEEE research fields within the last two years, has been presented to Bilkent UNAM graduate Onur Erdem (EE, BS ’13, MS ’15, PhD ’20), whom was supervised by Prof. Dr. Hilmi Volkan Demir.
