Assoc. Prof. İlday has been selected for €2,500,000 in funding from the European Research Council’s (ERC) 2021 Advanced Grant Call for his project entitled “Second Mode Locking for a Universal Material-processing Laser.”
The ERC recently announced the winners of its 2021 Advanced Grants competition. The funding, worth a total of €624.6 million, will go to 253 leading researchers across Europe. Assoc. Prof. İlday is one of two researchers from Turkey who were awarded the funding.
ERC Advanced Grants support established researchers known as leaders in their fields of research. Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, said, “The ERC Advanced Grants support ground-breaking researchers throughout Europe. It gives our talents the possibility to realize their creative ideas. Their pioneering work contributes to solve the most pressing social, economic and environmental challenges.”
