Asst. Prof. Urartu Şeker, one of the Project Leaders at Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM) and a faculty member in the Material Science and Nanotechnology Program, has been recognized with the prestigious 2023 Sedat Simavi Award for his work in the field of health sciences.
For 47 years, the Sedat Simavi Awards, organized on behalf of the founding president of the Turkish Journalists Association (TGC), have celebrated excellence in journalism, television, radio, cartoons, literature, social sciences, physical sciences, health sciences, and sports. Asst. Prof. Urartu Şeker received this year’s award in the field of health sciences for his study entitled “Arrangement of Programmed Bacteria as a Guided Contrast Agent in Magnetic Resonance Imaging Using Synthetic Biology Methods.”
