Nedim Hacıosmanoğlu, a PhD candidate in the Materials Science and Nanotechnology (MSN) Program under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Fatih İnci at Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM), has been selected as one of the four finalists from the South Asia, Middle East, and Africa region in the Nano Letters Seed Grant program.
Mr. Hacıosmanoğlu earned his place in the finals with his innovative project that proposed a fluorescence microscopy-based method to detect microplastics with high sensitivity using off-the-shelf optical disks.
The Nano Letters Seed Grant aims to support scientists globally by promoting creative ideas in nanoscience and nanotechnology. It provides funding for researchers to bring their projects to life while also helping them generate preliminary data for future, larger grant applications.
