On September 23, 2026, representatives from four of Türkiye’s leading research centers and infrastructures in micro- and nanotechnology, including Bilkent University National Nanotechnology Research Center (UNAM), Koç University n²STAR, Middle East Technical University MEMS Center (METU-MEMS), and Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM), four of Türkiye’s leading research centers and infrastructures in micro- and nanotechnology, came together at Koç University to explore opportunities for collaboration in the field.
The workshop focused on complementary capabilities in micro- and nanofabrication; opportunities for collaboration in MEMS, photonics, semiconductor technologies, and advanced manufacturing; Horizon Europe, Chips Joint Undertaking, and other international funding mechanisms; and models for researcher access, training, and knowledge-sharing. The representatives also discussed potential steps toward developing joint projects and increasing international visibility.
The workshop provided an important platform for exploring collaborative models that can more effectively bring together the complementary strengths of Türkiye’s leading micro- and nanotechnology research infrastructures. Participants emphasized that sharing infrastructure, expertise, and know-how can contribute to the development of joint projects, stronger international collaborations, and greater visibility and accessibility of Türkiye’s capabilities in the field.
The meeting was regarded as an important first step toward strengthening interaction among the participating institutions and paving the way for new collaborations that can create shared value in the future.
