ADMISSION PROCESS
Eligibility to the programs will be assessed and in case of qualification, applicant is called for an interview.
Applicants applying to the Ph.D. program with a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.00.
Turkish citizens applying to the Ph.D. program with a master’s degree are required to obtain a minimum score of 55 in the quantitative section of the ALES examination. Applicants applying directly to the Ph.D. program with a bachelor’s degree must obtain a minimum score of 80 in the quantitative section of ALES.
International applicants applying to the master’s program are expected to obtain a minimum score of 157 in the quantitative section of the GRE examination. International applicants seeking admission to the Ph.D. program must likewise obtain a minimum quantitative GRE score of 157.

In addition, applicants to the Ph.D. program who do not possess a TOEFL iBT score may fulfill the language proficiency requirement by meeting the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK) foreign language requirement (YDS, e-YDS, YÖKDİL, or equivalent examinations with a minimum score of 55) together with a minimum grade of C in the Bilkent University PAE examination.
Note: Home edition/online examinations are not accepted. All TOEFL iBT and IELTS Academic examinations must be taken at authorized test centers. The validity period of these examinations is two years.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences (such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, molecular biology and genetics, etc.), engineering disciplines (including electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, metallurgy, food engineering, etc.), or medicine.
Applications are evaluated by the Rectorate based on ALES scores (or GRE scores for international applicants), academic performance, letters of recommendation, and interview evaluations conducted by the evaluation committee composed of Bilkent University UNAM faculty members.
A strong command of written and spoken English is mandatory.

Dormitories are furnished with single beds or bunk beds, desks, desk chairs, bookcases or shelves, wardrobes, wastebaskets and mini refrigerators. All rooms have unlimited high speed internet access at no charge. All dorms have common areas, such as self-cook kitchens/kitchenettes, TV/social lounges, study lounges, self-service laundry and ironing rooms, and game and visitors’ areas or rooms. Central heating and 24-hour continuous hot water are standard, and each floor is further equipped with common bathrooms and restrooms.
