Bilkent University UNAM Director and Chair of the Department of Materials Science and Nanotechnology (MSN) Graduate Program, Prof. Dr. Hilmi Volkan Demir, has been selected as an Editorial Board Member of the international scientific journal Opto-Electronic Science (OES), which focuses on fundamental scientific advances in optics, photonics, and optoelectronics.
Prof. Demir has made significant contributions to the fields of optics and optoelectronics through his research on semiconductor nanocrystal optoelectronics, colloidal nanophotonics, light-emitting diodes, lasers, photodetectors, and nanophotonic structures. More recently, his research has focused on nanocrystal quantum structures, colloidal light-emitting diodes, and their integration withdielectric metasurfaces. He has published over 450 research articles in the international scientific literature and has contributed as principal investigator to more than 100 patent applications. His work has received tens of thousands of citations. Prof. Demir is an Optica Fellow and an IEEE Fellow and served as an editor of Optics Express from 2014 to 2020.
Published by the Institute of Optics and Electronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Opto-Electronic Science features high-impact research in fundamental optics, photonics, and optoelectronics. The journal is ranked in the Q1 category of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and has an Impact Factor of 26.9. The international editorial board of OES consists of distinguished scientists working across various areas of optics and optoelectronics.
